NEW RELEASES 11/7 2017

A pair of compact disc editions that are new to the catalog make use of brand new material from this tour as well as the archive of superior live and studio recordings done by Jan Fitsen of Freiburg when he performs with the Doc Chad Contemporary Rock Band.

THE PINT OF NO RETURN  is a two-fer (two for one) CD package recorded live at the lovely Babeuf club in Freiburg. I play acoustic guitar and banjo and sing in the company of our quartet version of this band, featuring Schroeder on drums, Fitsen on bass and baritone guitar and Titus Waldenfels on fiddle, lap steel, guitar and homemade instruments. This ensemble has been developing a great repertoire of country, rock, old-time and originals;  this performance was perfectly captured by a pair of high quality stereo microphones and the band was playing so well I felt it made sense to release both sets in their entirety, with very little editing.  $15 plus appropriate postage.

MUSIC OF MY YOUTH Vol. ii   continues a concept that speaks for itself, the majority of the material comes from recordings done on the last tour with several different ensembles. The entire Elba Sonica set on the beach with Schroeder on drums is presented with striking clarity of sound, especially the banjo.  Highlights of the Handelbeurs Lobby performance in Ghent feature the duo known as Sonny and Brownie from Mars (Or High Point) with myself and Steven DeBruyn, harmonicas.  Dynamic recordings done by Jan Fitsen at the groovy Cafe Kairo in Bern fill out the program; unlike the Babeuf set, this collection is heavy on electric guitar.  $10 plus appropriate postage
